Hannaford is a supermarket chain in and around New England. A new map on the company website highlights local producers of baked goods, fruits and veggies, liquor and even peanut butter. But the Flash based map isn’t all that it could be. The “cartoon” state outlines with no context (no streets, no town names…) are the backdrop for red dots. A click notes the name of the provider and what they provide. There’s no link, no address, no further information. I guess the goal is simply to note how good the company is to deal with local providers and nothing more. A few providers are profiled on the main map page, I should point out, but it’d be nice to have a link to the sites of all of them.
