This widget, which puts the ability to search Geospatial One-Stop right on your website, has been around since the end of July (press release). I don’t think I ever saw what it looked like, so I embedded the code in this post. It calls ArcGIS Server and pops up a window with the results from which you can explore the data or download it. I think most pages would need to include a bit more information to make it as useful as it might be. The widget is still in beta.

Rseven is as service that not only geotag, but also back up all you do with it - talk (it can record calls), take pictures, text, etc. With that archive you know everything you “did” today. As VentureBeat notes, recording others without expressly saying you are is illegal in some states. The app debuts at DEMO this week. I don’t even have a digital camera, so clearly, I’m not that interested in documenting my life… That said, I can see how folks who’s lives are business all the time (lawyers?) could use such a tool (if it can be made legal and secure and all..) Only certain OSs are supported: Windows Mobile phones and on Nokia and Samsung Series 60 Symbian ones.

The second key enabler [to removing barriers to imagery use] is the availability of cloud computing to distribute our products. With the geospatial cloud we can offer a platform with high performance computing and bring down cost. Our customers can therefore access imagery through various formats, immediately. We can also offer additional services such as change detection or feature identification that leverage this geospatial cloud.

That’s the title of browser window for the Allegany County Department of Economic Development shopping center app. Kevin Spradlin of the local paper calls it “a high-tech wonderland of business recruitment and retention information.” “It’s so cutting-edge, so advanced, that the (software) company has featured it on its Web site,” said the man behind the raw data, David Nedved.

I’m still looking for ESRI Flex Apps that look different. This one looks like all the others I’ve seen. Readers?
