Steve Poizner (founder of geo-companies SnapTrak, Inc. and Strategic Mapping, Inc. sold to Qualcomm and ESRI respectively) is now insurance commissioner for the State of California. He spoke to Scott Simon on Weekend Edition today
about how insurance will work for those hit by the fires and how those in high risk areas pay more than those who do not.
We contacted him (his office) about speaking at our Location Intelligence Conference last year, but he never returned our calls. I should think he's a pretty interesting guy.
