Northrop Grumman has been thinking about "onshoring" and to do that they are developing workforce development centers in places that are in less populated and in rural areas, this according to an
article in
Premier IT, a publication from Intel. The company's CIO, Tom Shelman, is concerned about keeping people near their local communities and not moving them to larger metro areas but also "leveraging the IT talent and lower costs of living in these regions." The lucky communities are spread across the country and include Johnstown PA, Auburn AL, Rapid City SD, Helena MT, Corsicana TX, and somewhere in West Virginia.
