We at Directions have an automated submission process for press releases. However, we still get many releases via e-mail. And many of those are accompanied by huge graphic files and sometimes huge PDF files. After many years of requesting that those who want to offer graphics provide a URL from which journalists may download such files, I’m pleased to report progress. More communications teams are offering Web-based galleries for journalists to use, complete with company logos, images of executives, screen shots along with captions and citation information. I was pleased as punch when Intergraph launched one of these a number of years ago.
Today I received an e-mail that warmed my heart from Skylab Mobilesystems Ltd. (who among other things offers a list of WMS sites, updated regulary, which is how I learned of the company). The e-mail, which included a PR, read in part:
