NAVTEQ CEO Judson Green graduated from DePauw Univeristy in Indiana, back in the 1970s. So did his wife. And, while the company gets lots of ink about it data collection, Green gets little. So it was nice to see that the couple has given a $15 million dollar “lead gift” for the $29 million expansion and renovation of what will be known as the Judson and Joyce Green Center for the Performing Arts. Work is under way, and should be completed by the Fall of 2007 for the building which will house the School of Music and department of communication.

From the Silicon Fen (yes, that’s what they call it over there!) come a blurb about the most popular local mobile searches. It’s from m-spatial, the company behind the technology.

Brands topping the ‘mobile local search’ chart between April and June 2006 include Tesco, Asda and Sainsbury’s, with fast food giants Pizza Hut, beating McDonald’s and Domino’s Pizza in the battle of the mobile bulge. Italian restaurants have also knocked Indian off the top spot for UK searchers.

I’m just amused that “pizza” is not on the top of the list. That’s the default “demo” query. BTW, Adrian Cuthbert is m-spatial’s Technical Director. Back in the day he was with Laser-Scan and was one of the folks to whom everyone listened at OGC meetings.

Update 7/9: Corrected mispelling of Fenn to Fen above.
