This has to be one of the saddest situations I’ve seen in GIS in some time. The county assessor in Mississippi County Missouri apparently is not providing input the company setting up the GIS. A neighboring county is up and running on an identical system. I do hope there is some small misunderstanding so no one involved ends up with a black eye.

A sensor determines when the 300 gallon capacity solar-powered trash compactor BigBelly is nearly full and radios the company behind it, which in turn can schedule a truck. The idea is to hold more garbage for fewer picksups, saving man power, gas and environmental impacts.
